Dr. Andrew Bagley - President, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
Andrew is President of SKYLIT, which he co-founded as a business to promote solar photovoltaic installations. He developed the business model, and provides administration and leadership. He was Senior Technical and business architect from 2001-2009 and from 2009 – present he is the President of FirstKnowIt Data Services Inc. marketing the financially advanced FirstKnow.It credit product which calculates company default probabilities using equity and equity option prices. He is a former Director of Credit Portfolio Risk Management at Banco Santander in Spain and former Senior Vice President of Bankers Trust Company (now part of Deutsche Bank). Andrew has worked in several companies in the start-up phase including a successful mining start-up called Promintech from 1998-1999 which converted ash from power stations into cement substitute and value-added minerals.
Christine Heap - Vice President, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
Christine is Vice President Administration of SKYLIT, which she co-founded as a business to promote solar photovoltaic installations. Christine manages the administration and financial planning and coordination of Nova Solar Capital Inc. She was the Data Manager from 2001-2009 and from 2009 - present is the Secretary/Treasurer of FirstKnowIt Data Services Inc marketing the financially advanced FirstKnow.It credit product which calculates company default probabilities using equity and equity option prices.
Amanda Brulé - Secretary/Treasurer, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
Amanda is Vice President-Sales & Residential Projects of SKYLIT., a business promoting solar photovoltaic installations. She designs the marketing and communications campaigns, manages the Sales & Customer Service departments, and coordinates the residential installation program. From 2011-2016 she worked for Maritime Broadcasting System (MBS Radio) as the Director of Creative & Production where she lead a team of eight to write and produce radio commercials for businesses across The Maritimes, and was responsible for on air station branding and imaging for 19 radio stations.
Michael Gill - Independent Director, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
Mike Gill is President of Global Conservation Design, Ltd., a Nova Scotia based company specializing in wildlife and ecosystem research and monitoring design. In this capacity, he holds a number of international positions related to global monitoring and reporting of biodiversity trends. Mike is currently the Director of the Biodiversity Indicators Program at NatureServe and also holds an elected position as Co-Chair of the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network. His work involves leading the design and implementation of a global biodiversity observation system and producing policy-relevant outputs in the form of biodiversity indicators, predictive models and visualizations. He has also been appointed as an Honorary Fellow of UN Environment’s World Conservation Monitoring Centre.
Mike’s work spans the globe having established conservation, research and monitoring programs in the Arctic, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Latin America. Mike has advised multiple governments, senior officials, and Environment Ministers on biodiversity conservation policy and published over 50 scientific publications, books and book chapters. Mike has won numerous awards including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award for significant global contributions by a Canadian.
David Brushett - Independent Director, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
David Brushett is a mechanical engineer with 10 years’ experience in the energy efficiency industry in Nova Scotia. He currently works for EfficiencyOne in the role of On-Site Energy Manager for Cape Breton Regional Municipality. In this role he has developed and implemented a comprehensive Strategic Energy Management program to help the municipality achieve continuous energy improvement, foster a culture of energy efficiency, develop a long term vision for energy usage, and meets its energy cost reduction targets across a large portfolio of commercial and industrial facilities. David also serves on the board of Solar NS.
David Ritcey - Independent Director, Solar Scotia Energy Inc.
David Ritcey is a licensed Portfolio Manager at Scotia Wealth Management and is a Certified Financial Planner and holds senior professional designations from the Canadian Securities Institute and the internationally recognized Investment Management Consultants Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and is an active member in all these organizations. Wealth Professional magazine has included him in its list of top 50 Advisors in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He enjoys teaching introductory and advanced courses in investment and finance.
